Team IBERICO (Nabetzy Espino, Irwin Estrada Fernandez, Saih Gonzalez, and Jesus Lopez Verdugo) participated in the 2024 4H/MATE Arizona Regional ROV (remotely operated vehicle) on May 4. This competition is commonly known as underwater robotics. Team Iberico bested 13 other teams and took 1st place. The team presented the engineering that went into making their ROV with a poster and oral presentation. The team also ran two 12-minute product demonstrations where the ROV had to do various tasks like retrieving a temperature probe. This is the third consecutive year GHS has taken the top prize. Mr. Chang, Mr. King, and Mrs. Hernandez are proud of these students.

GHS Science Club has been sponsoring underwater robotics teams since 2018.
