Interact Club gives back at the Rock n Roll Paint-A-Thon

On October 26th, 2013, a number of students involved in Interact along with other clubs such as National Honor Society gave back to their community.  Other clubs involved included:

o    Anti-Cruelty to Animals club,

o   Financial Peace club,

o   S.A.D.D.,

o   Girls Basketball,

o   Boys Tennis, and

o   Senior class.

The students under the direction of Interact Club Sponsor, Michelle Scott, painted two homes in the Glendale Community.  There were a total of 12 adult volunteers and 35 students who participated in this event  This community service project was part of the Rock n Roll Paint-A-Thon in partnership with Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun.  Glendale High School participated in this last year, but felt that they could do more and decided to paint two homes in an effort to help more families in need.  The students started the painting event at 8:00 and for many of the students, did not finish painting until 3:30 that afternoon.  The students were provided lunch by Sam McAllen, Director of Glendale’s Code Compliance and Neighborhood.

Thank you Glendale Students for giving back to your community.
