College Day at GHS
College Day at GHS

College Day for all seniors took place on September 23rd.  Students heard brief, motivational presentations from representatives of nearly two dozen universities, community colleges, and technical schools, and were then able to peruse information and speak face-to-face with a representative from each campus.  Seniors were also encouraged to participate in Glendale's new COLLEGE P.U.S.H. initiative.  COLLEGE P.U.S.H. (Planning, Using resources, Scholarships, and Help) occurs in the GHS Media Center every Wednesday morning late start on a walk-in basis.  Students--with the help of their guidance counselors and the Career Center Specialist--are able to  start completing applications for schools and scholarships, investigate post-secondary options, get started on their federal financial aid application, and sign up for ACT, PSAT, and SAT testing and prep courses.  It's a great ongoing resource for students (and parents) who are often overwhelmed by the steps needed to get the college ball rolling.
