At Glendale High School we’re serious about student achievement! Beginning with the incoming Freshman Class (Class of 2015), we will be instituting a MANDATORY eighth hour study period for any freshman who is failing a class.
The “Cardinal Pride 8th Hour” will run from 2:45 pm until 3:30 pm every day of the week. Any freshman who is failing a subject will receive a notice to attend a subject specific study session. Attendance at the study sessions will continue until the student’s failing grade becomes a passing grade.
Other schools in the Glendale Union District have similar programs already in place and have experienced great success in reducing freshmen failures and in helping students become academically successful.
