2016 Summer Assignment
This year, all students in regular and ELL English courses have the option of reading the following book(s) for their summer reading assignment.  These books are available at the public library as well as local book stores, or use the link provided below to order a copy from Amazon.  Students that read the book and will have options to participate in activities in the media center based on the book they chose to read.

Please note: Students entering Honors and AP courses have required summer assignments.

Students entering Honors English 1-2 (Freshmen ) - a pre-AP course - need to consult the requirements for their assignment via the link provided. Their reading assignment is a short story, not a novel.  All of the assignment documents have been posted as PDFs, so students may download, print, and complete them by hand.  

Students entering Honors English 3-4 (Sophomores) - a pre-AP course -  need to obtain a copy of the required novel and complete the assignment.  Documents have been posted as PDFs on the link provided, so students may download, print, and complete them by hand.  

Students entering AP Language and Composition (Juniors) need to obtain a copy of the required novels for their summer assignment. Instructions are available via the link provided to allow students to join the online Classroom and access details on their assignment.  Additionally, students are encouraged to read some type of book for enjoyment over the summer.

Students entering AP Literature and Composition (Seniors) need to consult the requirements for their assignments via the link provided. (Note: Students must be logged into their Google Docs account to view the assignment detail.)  Additionally, students are encouraged to read some type of book for enjoyment over the summer.
